Judo’s thoughts on maxing the Heroic Torch in Clash of Clans.

The video follows Judo Sloth as he maxes out the new Heroic Torch equipment for the Grand Warden and tests whether it’s worth the investment. He begins by unlocking it through the Splash Bash event, purchasing medals and ore to fast-track the upgrades. Before committing, he tries the torch at level one, pairing it with the Healing Tome and Electro Titans, but the attack ends in a time fail.

As he upgrades the torch to level nine, then level eighteen, he keeps testing with different strategies like Valkyries, Electro Titans, and RC dives. Each attempt shows promise—speed boosts, damage reduction, and the ability to walk through walls—but the results are mixed, often ending in time fails or near-misses. Judo points out a key issue: while the torch can be powerful, it requires sacrificing other equipment like the Eternal Tome, which often feels more reliable.

Despite his early advice that players should wait for the community to explore its use cases, he pushes the torch all the way to level 27. This gives a 20-second window of troops moving through walls, and he decides to test it in a war attack with a wild “warden fireball into queen charge” plan. Even though the execution is messy, the strategy surprisingly delivers a three-star—showing that the Heroic Torch can shine in the right circumstances, even if it’s not the most practical or versatile option.

In the end, Judo frames the upgrade as more of a fun experiment than a clear must-have. The Heroic Torch can correct attacks and create flashy moments, but whether maxing it was a “mistake” depends on how much value you place on creativity and surprise versus consistency and reliability. For most players, he suggests it’s probably better to hold off, but admits he enjoyed pushing it to max and finding unique ways to make it work.
